A conversation between Ilit Azoulay and Dr. Daniel Milman concerning the artist’s current exhibition “Mousework” at Braverman Gallery.
This encounter between artist and scholar provides insight into the research undertaken by Azoulay for her exhibition,
which focuses on the history of 19th century “female hysteria” and it’s legacy within contemporary practices of mental healing in Western societies.
Dr. Daniel Milman (born and raised in Paris and Geneva) is a clinical psychologist based in Tel Aviv and a member of the Institute
of the Parisian Society of Psychoanalysis. After earning his MBA in finance, Milman studied psychology, eventually receiving a PhD from the University
of Paris and simultaneously training as a psychoanalyst. From 2003-09 he worked as a child psychotherapist at the Salpêtrière.
He is also a board member of The CCA thanks to his interest in art and his expertise on the dialectic between art and psychoanalysis.
