Dana Levy is participating in the group show “ETF! Examples To Follow – explorations in aesthetics and sustainability”, at Uferhallen Berlin-Wedding, with her work ‘Emerging from the Swamp’ (HD video 2015).
The ETF exhibition started 13 years ago and became a pioneer of a distinct artistic practice in terms of size, internationality and richness of artistic methods.
The EFT’s finale show, opening May 11th, from 6 pm, is curated by Adrienne Goehler.
‘Emerging from the Swamp’ is a single channel video conceived during an artist residency in the Everglades National Park AIRIE.
In the Everglades, there lies an intriguing scene where the studio of a European explorer rests beneath the surface of the swamp. Among the ancient relics, such as a desk, bookshelves, maps, collected shells and skulls, and a globe, all seemingly partially submerged in the mosquito infested swamp. The fate of the intrepid explorer remains an enigma, shrouded in uncertainty. Captured from a canoe within the swamp, the artist recorded both captivating video footage and photos, showcasing the presence of a snake gliding across the table.
