“Amor”: A new work by Dor Zlekha Levy to premiere in October 2019

September 3. 2019

Amor is a collaborative work by artist Dor Zlekha Levy and musician Aviad Zinemanas.

Zlekha Levy and Zinemanas maintain an ongoing collaboration through which they set out in partnership to explore the relationship between image and sound. Amor serves as an attempt to cast the emotional frequency of longing for love into a physical space. By employing audio and video samples conjoined with a collection of cliché representations of love in music from various cultures, genres and eras, the work aims to pinpoint a particular emotion articulated in Portuguese as Saudade. Referring to a profound sense of longing for someone or something, the term has inspired a great deal of songs and works of literature.

The project is scheduled to open in October 2019, in Room 25, a new sound-based art space at Herzl 16, Tel Aviv. Curated by Hagit Emma Werner.
