Braverman Gallery is pleased to present ‘Lost and Found’, a project with works by David Adika, Nevet Yitzhak, Dana Levy, Justine Tjallinks and Mohau Modisakeng, focused on memory and tradition. The exhibition seeks to imagine a new reality where lost objects – fragments left scattered without any further use – can be given a new power and life in relation to different places, identities, images and gazes. Adika, Azoulay, Yitzhak and Modisakeng works show the effort to preserve things and to create for all these items, which have lost their place in the world, new spaces that altogether trace a new geography of knowledge. According to Jean Baudrillard, objects lose their singular nature and are subordinated into systems that are relative to each other. So ‘Lost and Found’ aims to rethink the role that objects play in the formation of a psychological universe, also by provoking active engagements with the memories that haunt a lived world, and that characterize our recollective relationship to objects.
