Nira Pereg will be participating in a group exhibition at the Weatherspoon Art Museum, Greensboro, North Carolina.
The exhibition focuses on artists who examine issues related to the boundaries of Israel and Palestine. Throughout history, artists have created work about the effects of war and conflict. Zones of Contention: After the Green Line presents eight contemporary artists who address the history and consequences of the ongoing disputes in this highly volatile region of the world. In areas of conflict, personal and cultural differences defined by geography, economics, language, race, religion, politics, and sexuality are magnified. The distinction between the self and the other becomes a lens through which daily life is understood.
The exhibition will open at Feb 8th and run through May 3rd, 2015.
