ANSWERS FROM OUR BRAINS

How our mind perceives color? What happens in our brain when we look at a work of art? These are questions that – without resorting to the Stendhal Syndrome, a sense of disorientation that may happen in front of the “too” nice – maybe we set more than once in front of a masterpiece. The answers, entrusted to the voices of three prestigious scholars in the field of neuroscience, are now at the center of the new series of art Monday.

We discuss the relationship between the neuro-aesthetics, psychoanalysis and art, the perception of color, of “mirror neurons” and empathy. It seeks to understand what constitutes for the brain-body system the experience of the result of the creativity objects.

These are issues that are at the forefront of the current art scene, considered recently by the major international museums: MoMA, which entered the neuroscience in its programs, the Tate Modern, which was held in 2014 a conference on synesthesia, simultaneous activation, also towards the work of art, the different sensory spheres.

The meetings will introduce the exhibition “Colors,” scheduled to GAM and Castello di Rivoli in March 2017, with masterpieces by Kandinsky to the present day.
