Bio

Liora Kaplan constructs sculptural forms compiled of found objects, laden with local significance, such as Israeli ceramics, merged with aesthetics that pertain to traditional craft. Her three-dimensional objects are imbued with symbolic codes and meanings, and her works explore the subjective interpretations transmitted through such codes. Kaplan employs a variety of materials including wood, leather, metal, and glass, which together generate a new set of characteristics and a cohesive array of work. Through her objects and materials of choice, her works give rise to a new cultural narrative that brings to the forefront the artist’s inclination toward creating connections that lead to dialogue rather than conflict.

Solo exhibitions include KMAC museum ,2023, Center for Contemporary Art, Tel Aviv in 2021. Additional solo exhibitions include Rozin Center (Tel Aviv, 2017) and Ferrate Gallery, (Tel Aviv, 2013).
