Braverman Gallery is pleased to an exhibition of works by artists from different and complex backgrounds and cultures; David Adika, Oren Eliav, Bracha L. Ettinger, Robin Rhode, Gresham Tapiwa Nyaude, and Summer Wheat. Differing in media, though comparable in their inclination to create works that deal with questions regarding multiple identities in contemporary culture, these artists inevitably look to define and distinguish themselves, perhaps through their work, as each one of them is rooted in some level of geographical, cultural, ethnic, social, and, political multiplicity. The proposed works authored by the artists who form this unique group seek to bridge the distances and spaces created by said multiple identities. The works are the artists’ apparatus at a negotiation of proximities, a crossing of territories through which they define themselves as individuals and as members of a group.
