Reuven Israel
These objects contain a figurative and materialistic language imported from elsewhere – religious structures, mechanical machinery, home appliances or furniture comes to mind when we see the shapes in space, when we feel their material presence.
In a way, these works refuse to display themselves as riddles to us – there is no hidden solution at hand, only the experience itself. What is hidden from us is included in the viewing of the object’s vivid colors, it’s plastic shape. It is tangible, as if wanting to be touched by the viewer, and in the same time – remains distant, untouchable and toxic.
