Braverman Gallery cordially invites you to the opening of “Kairos”, an exhibition of Orit Hofshi’s recent work. The exhibition includes large scale work, presenting an intriguing mix of media: Monumental drawing and carving on wood boards, woodcut prints and striking pastel paintings. The narrative and subject matter range from grand sweeping landscapes to penetratingly intimate portraits, delicately navigating between abstract and hyper realism. The artist’s conceptualization and ability to impose time in its very essential and minimalist form, capturing a seemingly random and raw moment, while enshrining it eternal, is a predominant motif in the exhibition. The drama encompassed in this very moment is in fact the core and substance of the work. The show as a whole, exhibits the artist’s absolute commitment to the creative process and its multiple phases. The monumental scale on the one hand and the captivating focus on details on the other; the apparently explicit messages accompanied by the lingering sense of much which is obscured; offer the viewer a unique introspective point of view into Hofshi’s inmost thoughts, and her in-depth research of the human existence.
