A Performance by Hillel Kogan

Hillel Kogan

July 2 - 4, 2020

Braverman Gallery is excited to participate in Gallery Weekend Tel Aviv!

During the first weekend in July, the leading galleries, museums, and venues in Tel Aviv will band together to mark the reopening of the Tel Avivian art field and the start of the summer exhibition season.

In a special performance designed for Braverman Gallery, choreographer and dancer Hillel Kogan will respond to the gallery walls, quoting numerous works,  in an attempt to slightly soil the empty space by means of his body and his voice.
Hillel Kogan produces works on the seam between dance and theater. With criticism and humor, his works combine movement, text, and music into a visual language that navigates through statements – both explicit and refined – on the world of art, popular culture and contemporary society. Kogan’s work exposes ideologies of the aesthetic in which the dancing body – ever in conflict – questions what is perceived as proper, beautiful, and intriguing in contemporary art and culture.
Performance schedule:
Thursday, July 2, 21:00
Saturday, July 4, 12:30 and 13:30
Each performance is expected to run between 30-40 minutes.
