Leon Bitler

Bio

Leon Bitler (b.1998, Ramat Gan, Israel) .

Bitler’s work is characterized by the attempt to reduce the artist’s reliance on other sources and by the attempt to understand the world for himself.

His research for the perfection focuses on the study of human figures and anatomy, on color relations and compositions, and on the narrative and concept of work itself. Bitler’s main source of inspiration can be found in classical and Hellenistic Greek art, as well as in human sculptures from these periods.

Bitler experiments with the “subconscious”, working in an intuitive, instinctive, imaginary or even animalistic way.
The results create an interesting situation where the paintings show images which appear to contain focused thought and symbolic meanings, but eventually do not contain them.

Bitler has recently graduated from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design.
