Biljana Djurdevic: Dark is the Forest

In the current exhibition the artist Biljana Djurdjević presents three of her latest paintings, one of them being the polyptych Dark Is the Forest, from which the exhibition derived its name. alongside her paintings, for the first time the artist will put out before the audience her work realised through a new technique of animation. In consistency with the previous work by Biljana Djurdjević, that indubitably stems from the study of the classical craftmanship of painting, its motifs and patterns, the concept for this exhibition was forged taking as its parting point a 15th-century incunabulum dealing with the interpersonal relations and philosophy. The selfsame principles expounded in the incunabulum can still relate to the present-day matters.
