“Albanian Flag on the Moon”, shows the artist’s sharp irony to another kind of obsession. The precarious and indefinite status of his homeland, Kosovo, caught in between nationalistic claims and international perplexity, has pushed the artist to create a very funny play, almost an absurd one, placing the Albanian Flag on the Moon. By a simple Photoshop process, Shkololli is challenging two entire set of (mis)perceptions of his people’s problem on the quest for an identity. Indeed, what better than some kind of Alien conquering the Moon could challenge such hermetic minds, trapped in what seems to be a historical paradox.
