Established in 2004, Braverman Gallery is a leading member of the contemporary art scene in Tel Aviv, specializing in video-art and installations. The gallery seeks to bring Israeli artists to international audiences by promoting them worldwide.
In 2020 the gallery moved to a new location of 1000 sqm, next to the unique and historical area of Neve Tzedek. The new cultural hub seeks to show solo exhibitions by established artists, alongside projects of young and promising artists in a space called ‘Salon’.
Braverman Gallery has helped foster the careers of some of the most influential Israeli artists working today and has maintained long-term representation of a wide-ranging, international group of artists, by actively supporting them also through many international projects and publications.
Recent International projects and solo shows include Dana Levy at the 12th Berlin Biennale (2022), Ilit Azoulay’s representation of Israel at the 59th Venice Biennale (2022); Gilad Ratman permanent video installation for the Jewish Museum Berlin (2021); Bracha Ettinger at Castello di Rivoli, Turin (2021); Biljana Djurdjevic at Eva Kahan Foundation, Wien and Budapest (2021); Mohau Modisakeng at Rose Art Museum, MA (2021); Nira Pereg at Princeton University Art Museum (2021).
Acquisitions made by significant art institutions include Oren Eliav’s works at the Phillips Collection (Washington DC) and Nira Pereg’s works “Abraham Abraham” and “Sarah Sarah” at Tate Collection. Other artists’ works are featured in both local and international collections including MoMA (NYC), LACMA (LA), Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (NYC), Centre Pompidou (Paris), GAM (Torino), MCA (Chicago), MOCAK (Krakow), MAMbo (Bologna), Des Moines Art Center (Des Moines), Israel Museum (Jerusalem), Tel Aviv Museum of Art (Tel Aviv), MACBA (Barcelona), Herzliya Museum of Art (Herzliya), Haifa Museum of Art (Haifa). Private collections include Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (Torino), Tony Podesta collection (Washington DC), Sammlung Goetz (Munich), and The Ekard Art Foundation (The Netherlands).
