Noa Gur awarded the Ministry of Culture Award for Young Artist, 2015
Congratulations are in order for Noa Gur on winning the Ministry of Culture Award for Young Artist, 2015. According to the judges “A tension between the individual to the public institute is created in Noa Gur works.
Gur examines the singularity of the self-portrait and shifts it to a machine, a prototype, and to a reflection, through reproducing and repetitions.
The museum as an institute also becomes transparent in Gur’s hands when she uses its representatives as an active field to construct a socialized and validated work of art. As well as the action of reveling ‘behind the scenes’ of the art censorship by the ones who are supposedly in charge of creating a space where those who were chosen to present at the institute would have the freedom to do so.”Click here for further information
